Onpattro (patisiran) is a new drug used to treat the genetic disorder Hereditary ATTR (hATTR) amyloidosis. It is a RNAi therapeutic, which means it blocks the production of the abnormal protein that causes the disease. hATTR amyloidosis is a rare and fatal disease caused by a build-up of abnormal protein in the body. Onpattro is given as an injection into a vein (intravenously) every 3 weeks.

The most common side effects of Onpattro are: headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, pain in the extremities, and trouble breathing.

The recommended dosage of Onpattro is 30 mg given as an intravenous injection every 3 weeks.
